The Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce is offering scholarships to graduating seniors and continuing students in the Susitna Valley High School attendance area. The funds granted may be used for any expenses involved in post secondary education and will be disbursed to the student on proof of enrollment.
Applications must include:
• Personal Information: Name, Address, Phone, Date of birth
• Unofficial transcript in a sealed envelope from your school
• Two letters of reference: one from a teacher and one from a community member
• Resume, including academic achievements, activities, membership in organizations, and community service. Please include any position of leadership and special projects.
• Employment history, with brief job description and responsibilities
• Short paragraph on your greatest personal and/or academic achievement, and your personal and career goals and how you plan to achieve them. Include schools applied to, and acceptance status.
• Essay: In 300 words or less, please describe how your current or future activities contribute to your community, show a commitment to humanity, and/or help preserve and protect the environment.
Applications and References Must Be Received By 3pm, April 23, 2010. Please submit them to the office of the Susitna Valley Guidance Counselor or mail to the chamber’s post office box.
